Spring Is Here

Well, to officially kick off spring, I did this fabulous brown traincase/overnighter.  This Amy Butler fabric just screams beautiful weather.

Look for it in the shop in the coming days!

Sorry for the delay!

Ay. What a week.  I have been non-stop busy since last thursday.  It has been one of those weeks where it seems like you just can't get caught up.  Work, exams, drawings to due.  I had to put upcycling on the back-burner for the week.  I hated to but every time I thought I put enough time aside to work on suitcases, I got into studying or drawing.

But that is all over now. I am caught up, took my tests, turned in my drawings.  Now if only I could get rid of work!

I am working on a case as we speak.  I will post up pics once I finish.

I hate sundays.

I hate sundays.  But I did manage to kick out a suitcase today, so that was a plus.  Here are a few photo's.

Add another to the list.

I have been working on this train case for the past 2 days. Another one that was a lot of fun to do.  This particular one has a large mirror, perfect for a make-up case or beauty box!

Look for this to be listed in the next couple of days. The weather is really crappy in Michigan.  It poured today, I think we have like 2 inches of rain. Needless to say, not very photogenic out doors at this time.

I got a lot of feedback from the train case I sold in the store and many people wanted to see another in the houndstooth fabric.  I normally wouldn't put out more than one product in the same fabric, but since I got a lot of requests and I had some extra I figured I would go for it.  Now there isn't anymore fabric going to waste!

Sometimes I just feel like dancin'

I just thought I would post up a portion of what I have waiting to be upcycled.  I tried to organize my mess the best I could.

I wish I had more time to dedicate to this.  I work and go to school so basically I have the weekends to myself and that's about it.

What a relief

Well This evening I officially opened Zaqs Vintage & Design.  I listed a beauty box and a vintage train case (pictured below with the houndstoothesque fabric) less than an hour after listing I already had a sale!  What do you know, someone must have loved that salmon train case as much as I did.  It will be sad to see her go, she has been the highlight of my work so far, she was so much fun to work on.  I hope the new owner appreciates her as much as I did.

I hope this is a sign of how things will continue. I stressed myself a little too much when it came to my store.  It's hard to determine if someone will see your point of view and love your work as much as you do yourself.

Inventory Inventory

Today's finds.  Add it to the closet full that is waiting to be upcycled and brought to their potential.  Today was spent organizing by size and shape.  Much easier to maneuver through the room now.  Also organized the mess of fabric and other knick knacks I thought were under control being thrown in random bags.

I have officially added to the store. This has been such a seemingly long road.  Months of preparation and I feel like I didn't get very far.  Nights of tossing and turning wondering if this venture would work or flop, I guess its up to the fellow estians to decide.
